Two teenagers are accused of a Boise crime spree early this morning that included stealing a car, driving into two portable classrooms at Hillside Junior High and then lighting a Jeep on fire.

Dustin James Batch, 18, of Boise, and Anthony Garcia, 19, of McAllen, Texas, are being held in the Ada County Jail without bond on felony charges of burglary, grand theft auto, arson, malicious injury to property, and attempted burglary. They also are charged with misdemeanor consumption of alcohol.

The teens will make their initial court appearance Friday, and bond will be set at that time.

Boise police say the crime spree began around 3 a.m. today when a car was reported stolen out of a garage in the 4500 block of West Waterfront Way. The teens are accused of driving that car to Hillside Junior High at 36th Street and Hill Road and trying to break into the school.

Police belive the teens then drove the stolen car into two portable classrooms at Hillside, badly damaging both, before abandoning the car at the school.

Police say the teens then walked through the neighborhood near the school and attempted to break into several cars before getting into a Jeep and lighting some papers inside on fire. The fire spread through the vehicle and caused extensive damage before fire crews were able to put it out.

Police responding to the calls from the public found and arrested the teens in the Hillside neighborhood and arrested them, according to reports.

Police officials did not release a suspected motive in the vandalism/crime spree.
